Norman was a Chiropractor in Dublin (the first in Dublin, until 1972) and Sarah was an avid gardener, baker, seamstress and mother. Sarah & Norman both grew up on farms and have backgrounds in construction. In fact they built their house in Iowa, which was featured in Better Homes and Gardens in 1964. When they moved to California they chose this property because of the yard and the rolling hills in the back. Behind the house was a cattle ranch, and today the owners still have cows and horses that roam by. The street in front was a dirt road when they moved here that few cars drove down, who shared the road with people on horseback. Today the road has become much busier, especially during the school morning and afternoon pick up rush, but the weekends are pretty quiet. The room off the kitchen was used as a sewing and reading room. The short counter at the end the kitchen was built so the children could help cook and bake.
